Historically, the University of Guelph's Black History Month programming was organized and executed through individual organizations' efforts. The campus sought larger engagement with the on-campus community and the greater Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge-Guelph region through a streamlined program strategy.
Building a robust program strategy, I developed and executed a proposal to All American Entertainment (AAE), a full-service talent booking agency, to host Angela Davis at the University of Guelph campus as the cornerstone event for the month's programming. In the months leading up to the event, I oversaw key steps/phases during project development including publicity, venue logistics, volunteer recruitment and training, and meeting budgetary objectives to welcome over 1,000 attendees (in addition to users joining on the YouTube livestream).
